Aesop launched the first women's library in Malaysia, inviting customers to embark on a journey of literary delight and discover the joy of reading by offering free book distribution to amplify the voices and stories of women within the local community.
Books are on display at The Garden Mall and Pavilion's two Aesop stores. This three-day library event served as a special gift to customers, conveying authentic expression through "women's voices" and paying tribute to the unique collective of women.
Aesop's two stores underwent a remarkable transformation, where every product was taken off the shelves and replaced with a captivating collection of empowering women's literature.
Not only that, but it also offers a unique opportunity for readers to pick and receive a free copy of a book without any purchase of the product.
Tiffany Soh of the Aesop marketing team said: "Words are the most beneficial tool to express stories, dreams and ideas."
"It's very important to be able to create a safe environment where women can freely express ideas and thoughts through storytelling."

Books placed in Aesop offline stores
Aesop has already showcased the capabilities and talents of Malaysian female authors to the world by providing a platform for women's literary voices. This event featured esteemed local writers such as Viji Krishnamoorthy, Liang Jingfen, Hanna Alkaf, and other guests.
Soh added: "The event featured 20 works from female allies, some of which covered topics such as culture, Malaysian history and more."
To convey this feminine spirit, society is constantly exploring multidimensional women's literature through the power of literature to examine the world and unite women's power from a contemporary female perspective.

Aesop The Garden Mall offers customers a choice of books
"I believe in the power of storytelling and the importance of amplifying marginalized voices, especially those of women," said Lee Zhuo Ying, TikTok content creator.
“This event is our way of celebrating Malaysia's rich literary heritage and promoting the incredible talent of local women writers."
As per the latest update on the official Instagram page, Aesop has distributed a total of 6,000 books on this occasion. These literary treasures by talented women portray the strength of gentle but determined women, appealing to a broader audience with their unique style.
When it comes to impressive authors and books, Soh commented: "One of the authors that stood out to me was Lee Su Kim, a founding member of the Native Chinese Baba Nyonya Association. Most of the stories are inspired by real-life events."

The books chosen by most readers
Undoubtedly, this female writer-themed event has won the favor of local women.
Lee pointed out, "In the past, the cultural environment has been dominated by a more male perspective in literature. This bias has caused women writers to face many challenges in creating their work before coming to the public eye. I don't think anyone has a reason to dismiss their efforts and talent."
They not only have "female power", but also create the "female era" together with millions of female writers.
