After losing two years of the famed music festival to the Covid-19 pandemic, Good Vibes Festival has finally returned with a brand-new experience for all. Titled the Good Vibes Weekender, this year’s festival spanned 23 and 24 September and saw performances by renowned artists such as CL, Jackson Wang, and Pink Sweats, as well as well-known local artists like Dolla and Joe Flizzow.

While attending the festival as a regular audience member is already a fun experience, sponsors of the event brought along their own representatives and ambassadors to join the event as well under the brand’s name. Alex Ho, an influencer with over 6 million followers on TikTok and a representative of Skechers, was able to directly compare both experiences of being a regular audience member and attending under a brand.

“I was just very happy that Skechers was willing to collaborate on this opportunity where I could have a great time and also wear items from a brand that I like. Skechers actually provided me with VIP tickets, and I was able to cut the queue and watch the concert comfortably and in such a nice space,” he said. In fact, being able to cut the queue is one of Ho’s favorite memories of the festival.

Apart from that, he also commended the festival for its convenient location choice. Compared to Good Vibes Festival 2019, which was held in Genting Highlands and therefore much less accessible for many people, this year’s Good Vibes Weekender was held in Sunway Lagoon. With the mall right next to the theme park, it was convenient for those attending to buy food, drinks, and any other last-minute needs.

However, the traffic in Sunway City is definitely something that has room for improvement. While the traffic can already cause a 30-minute to one-hour delay during rush hour on a normal workday, it took even longer with up to 20,000 audience members trying to leave the venue at the same time.

“The traffic leaving the venue was really, really bad as there was only one way out. Maybe if they could provide a few more options or divide a few more ways out it would have been better, but everyone was cramped together the whole way out,” Ho said. Despite the traffic, however, it was still an enjoyable experience and one of the Good Vibes organizers has also allegedly mentioned that the full Good Vibes Festival experience will return in 2023.
