SUBANG JAYA - During the Taylor's Club and Society Week that took place from April 28 to 29, the campus has changed into a vibrant showcase of student life for new intakes. Performances, music and booths from different clubs got to represent a variety of interests and groups.

Beyond the energy and vibrancy, it provided something more enduring; a starting point for personal development. When voices start to arise, skills are found and confidence rises.

Taylor's Chinese Society (TCS) is one of the clubs that serves as a starting point for every student. It promotes personal growth while celebrating culture.

"I think about every step I took, no matter how small it is. It contributed to my growth throughout my university life; it takes time to adapt to roles in a club." said Zoe Chu, president of TCS. " You don't become confident overnight."

"If you have no confidence in what you are doing right now, my secret is to fake it till you make it." With a grin, she said.

Her words reflected that numerous committee members on campus had similar experiences. Being a leader isn't about having experience right aways, it's more about having the courage to attempt, show up, and keep learning throughout the journey.

Although some students may begin with hesitation, students who join organisations generally leave with far more valuable abilities, such as teamwork, planning and self-esteem. Zoe believes that each club creates a space for transformation.

"The best way to start is to approach any booth and stay open to what happens next." Zoe said. " Becoming a committee is to study your own potential, not just pass the time."
