K-pop girl group BugAboo won over the hearts of many new fans and old fans alike during their fan meeting hosted by Taylor's very own K-Generation club.
While the club has hosted many other events in the past such as K-Motion, the dance cover competition, and the Hallyu Fest, the BugAboo fan meeting
has been a brand-new experience for all of them.

“It was a very vital experience for our team because it was a good combination of timing and the artists getting to show up in a foreign country under our campus,” said Ee Chern Jun, or CJ as she prefers to be called.
Rather than K-Generation reaching out, A Team Entertainment, BugAboo’s management company, was the one who contacted K-Generation first.
“We didn’t invite them since we had no idea about their schedules or plans. They were the ones who approached us and told us that they were going to come to Malaysia at the beginning of October and asked us if they could have an opportunity to promote their group and songs here,” CJ said.
The fan meeting was chock-full of fun activities and performances that allowed the members of BugAboo to interact with their fans as well as show off their talents.

The lucky fans who were picked got the chance to dance with the members and even teach them Malaysian slang words through a fun game that resembled Grapevine.
However, despite the smooth proceedings, there were quite a number of struggles that the K-Generation members faced.
“We only had roughly a week to prepare as we needed to liaise with both the school and their company. It was a very smooth process liaising with their company as they were really easy-going, but our school was slightly more confusing as there were multiple events going on at the same time. This caused quite a lot of issues with the venue booking,” CJ said.
Apart from that, there were also a number of technical issues such as the Korean microphones not being compatible with the Malaysian sound system.
Despite all of that, CJ still thinks that this event greatly improved K-Generation’s event management skills. Apart from it being a well-handled event on K-Generation’s part, BugAboo also gained a number of new fans who had attended the fan meeting out of curiosity and left with a newfound interest in the girl group.
“I didn’t mean to come to the event, but they really did draw me in with their performances and I became a fan,” said one of the participants who wished to remain unnamed.
CJ also mentioned, “We have another upcoming signature event which is a collaboration between Taylor’s Anime Society Club and K-Generation titled Hallyu Matsuri. It’ll be a combination of both cultures and there will be many different vendors and performances at the event. We’ll be announcing more details on our Instagram page soon.”
