SUBANG JAYA, Selangor — Taylor’s Music Club’s long-awaited concert, as a part of their signature event ‘More Than Just Music’, has returned to Taylor’s Lakeside Campus and is bigger than ever.

The student-led club has presented a lineup of local artists such as JAIE, RESORT and Midnight Fusic, including their in-house performing team, to play at The Grand Hall on the night of 30 September.

“This time, we’re collaborating with so many external sponsors, we have the support from the school and so on”, said Bernice Lee Tyzz Chii, 21, one of the event organisers and the president of Taylor’s Music Club.

The event sponsors include Laneige, Country Farms Organics’, Buga Buga Burger Bar, Big A Productions and many more.

Several booths were situated at the back of the hall, such as Taylor’s Music Club’s merchandise store, a photo booth and a flower stall where attendees could purchase a single stalk to throw on the stage after every performance. The booths have attracted early birds to kill time as they wait for the concert to begin.

The performing team of Taylor’s Music Club started the concert with a bang by covering Bruno Mars’ Runaway Baby. Besides playing hits by foreign artists and bands, such as love. by wave to earth and HUMBLE. by Kendrick Lamar, the team has also covered the local rock band Hujan’s song, Ah Moi Chantek.

This was followed by New York-based Malaysian R&B pop singer JAIE’s performance, Moon Sailing, to kick off her set. JAIE’s mix of laid-back and slow songs had the audience groove to the beat.

RESORT, a rising local indie band, enhanced their performance by interacting with the audience when they played their original song, Fix Everything. They wrapped up their set with an unexpected performance where JAIE joined back on stage to perform healthy, a collaboration song by both acts.

Crowd-favourite alternative-rock band Midnight Fusic took the stage by storm with their vibrant performance and even stunned the audience with an unreleased song, Modus Operandi. As the crowd screamed their lungs out to the lyrics, the band members tossed guitar picks and their setlist to the crowd.

“I didn’t know any of the local bands or artists, but it was a very enjoyable experience”, Yeoh Jia Chi, 18, attendee and a Diploma in Communication student said.

“I got to discover new artists, especially Midnight Fusic, their music is like my music taste”, she added.

Despite the concert ending later than scheduled, the crowd remained energetic and enthusiastic as they partied the night away.
