Taylor’s Chinese Society (TCS) celebrated their 15th anniversary with the theme of golden era Hong Kong, The 15th Step in Time.
TCS referenced the distinct niche in arts and culture when Cantopop dominated East Asia's music charts, and Hong Kong was the Hollywood of the East.

Eddie Leong Xing Jie, the club and event president, said, "The noteworthy part of our event is the vintage Hong Kong element. I have yet to see any university event with this theme.”
The club commemorated its big day with a grand carnival at the Student Life Centre walkway from 6 to 9 October, along with a performance night on the 9th of October.

The Avocado kimbap is one of the best sellers at the carnival.
See Zi Yi, a Creative Media Design major said, “I think the carnival is perfect as it covers a range of food, snacks, and desserts. And I think the stalls they invited were very suitable. The prices were reasonable as well.”
TCS outsourced performing guests such as Malaysian artists Madison Lau and Rice Ng, dance crews, award-winning Chinese mask-changing arts, diabolo, lion dance, and a champion beatboxer in their performance night.

Rice Ng mesmerising the crowd with his music.
“My favorite show is the diabolo performance because they blended Chinese culture with innovation using LED lights, so I think it is very cool,” said See.

The neon light lion dance is another remarkable highlight of the show.
Attendees praised the club for its photo corners that captured the rich vein of retro and contemporary Hong Kong.
There were three booths; one resembled a mahjong centre, one embodied a vinyl records store, and one reflected a canton disco, a nostalgic time capsule that never ended.

Leong felt elated after completing the event. “After the event, I just cried,” he chuckled.
Not only is TCS famous for its professionalism in organising events, but also for the passion of its members who love what they do.
“Joining a club brings a lot of joy and is something that gives a lot of benefits to its members,” said Leong.
TSC was founded on 7th June 2007, dedicated to cultivating a group of energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking talents to establish a well-known group across the university community.
As an event-driven club, they have organized monthly activities exclusive to TCS members, such as the Chinese New Year party, Winter Solstice, Mooncake Festival, etc.
TCS also hosts large-scale signature events like music festivals, 30-Hour Famine, and food bazaars.
Even during the pandemic, the club hit it off with their first-ever online event, an online detective game, which went successfully.
The club continued organizing more online events during the lockdown on Zoom, where TCS members enjoyed interactive games and made new friends with other members.
TCS also maintains strong ties with Chinese societies of other universities such as UTM KL, Segi University, UCSI University, and more.
