Unlike previous years Taylor's Chinese Society (TCS) took a different approach to recruiting by including photos of previous organizing events and traditional paper cuttings of new mascots.

TCS adopted a combination of traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage paper-cut and recruitment. The mascot paper-cut with Chinese art were given as a gift to every student who participated, indirectly promoting Chinese culture is the purpose of the society.

"We used a small interactive session to let the students know about the background of Chinese culture and art," said TCS member Kerry Yan.

Students will feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture, which is also one of the purposes of TCS..

The treasurer of TCS Yu Qian said,"The use of Chinese paper cutting and cherry blossom blowing is to enable students to expand their knowledge and understand Chinese culture."

As the treasurer, she handled the budget and proposed ideas for the event to ensure that the recruitment process went smoothly.

Yu Qian said, " They will hold a welcome party to make everyone know each other through more games, initially understand the significance of the TCS community and make them more interested in the society.”
