“I believe TUSC is in good hands. I have worked with them for the past few months now. They are committed and competent. I think they deserve the positions,” said Mikhall Mazlan, TUSC President 21/22.
Suleman Mir, the President of the TUSC 22/23, is the youngest and the first international president (Pakistani) ever elected in campus history.
Excited for the future and ready to take on challenges, he believes challenges are the real way we can know the true self and improve from the most basic things.
"One of the things that we want to do is to have a signature event for all students. Maybe it will be multiple days or one day, but we want it to be a big event and utilize all the different diverse clubs and societies we have in Taylor's and allow students to come and enjoy and have a good time."
Mikhall also highlighted the diversity in the new student body. The executive committee by itself has a representative from Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, and India, which creates value for the students.
Lee Wei Wen, a student representative for the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, pointed out that the student council is crucial to forming a connection between the students and the management.
He also added that the student body creates events that allow inclusivity for all clubs, societies, and schools, which is beneficial for students to know more people.
"TUSC is there for you. We are here to improve your campus experience, your study, and your time at Taylor's. We would like you to be open with us, be active with us, and we would love to help in any way we can," said Mir.
Congratulations to the newly elected representatives of Taylor's University Student Council 2022/2023!
