Shining a light on the often overlooked but prevalent topics in the Malaysian scene is the main objective of the first ever TEDxTaylorsUniversity.
With ‘In Unplain Sight’ as its theme, a word-play of the common phrase ‘in plain sight’ with a twist, the event is going to take place on 17 July 2021.

TEDxTaylorsUniversity is an independently organised TEDx talk, organised by our very own Taylorians, consisting of several talks with varied topics, that are meant to depict the spirit of ideas explorations.
Rishen Murali, the lead organiser of TEDxTaylorsUniversity, said that the reason behind the event’s theme is our tendency to want to learn about faraway things, while in truth we still have little understanding over the things that are sitting right in front of us.
Rishen added, “For example, climate change and global pandemics are two of the scariest concepts that plague modern society, and yet not many people know about how these two things correlate with each other.”
Besides the connection between climate change and the pandemic, among the confirmed topics for the talk include nudge society, the concept of dramaturgy through manga, the essence of cryptocurrency, and the sustainable life of Malaysian indegenous communities.
TEDxTaylorsUniversity is open to the public, but is limited to only the first 100 people.
In compliance with the MCO 3.0 rules, the event is going to be held virtually through an online video platform.
To join the event and enjoy the talks given by the entire roster of speakers, you just have to fill up the registration form and pay RM 5 for the ticket.
As Rishen mentioned, “From university professors to activists, all our speakers are ready to share their industries' most obvious, yet underrepresented facts.”
