A global pandemic followed by movement restriction orders meant that there was no chance of meeting anyone new to take out on a romantic date for most bachelors and bachelorettes. Although most people continued meeting new people using online applications and websites, the absence of social and physical connections made the experience a lot less spontaneous, fun and might have robbed all romantics of the word romance.

A picnic with a twist

Picnics have been a stable date location for centuries, and there is a perfectly good reason for it - the smell of blooming flowers, the surrounding greenery, the birds chirping, it’s a sure way to never disappoint your partner.

With a simple twist, this date can turn comical to work, each person going on the date will bring food to feed the other person. This element of surprise can create laughter and conversation, ensuring you have a good time on your date.

Fruit picking

Fruit farms are a great idea for early in the game dates, walking around the fruit farm, while each of you picks fruit, will give you a lot of time to talk to each other and get to know each other more. This can create a sense of trust between the two very early on and will also set the relationship off on a healthy note.

Go on a hike

Hiking across a mountain is a sure way to get great views on your date, strap your boots, pack a pair of binoculars and take your date out on a romantic hike to watch the sunset. Although this idea might not be best for the first date, it will surely get your blood pumping and body sweating.

Go stargazing

If you live in a city with a good view of the stars, this would be the perfect first date idea, pack a blanket, some snacks and take your date to the best stargazing location in your city. This date will create the perfect romance for your first date and is a sure way to spark up conversation all night long.

Sunset beach walk

When thinking about the perfect date, nothing can beat nature. You can go wrong with getting your feet in the sand or getting flirty by splashing your date with water. Drive your date to the beach for a romantic sunset, and make sure you pack the essentials.

A horror escape room

One might ask how visiting a horror escape room might be romantic, but this is a great idea as fear will surely make the walls between you and your date drop and break the ice between the two of you, with the addition of it being an escape room, expect a lot of laughter and screaming.
