Taylor’s Counselling Services continuous contribution to students mental health well-being

Taylor’s University Centre for Counselling Services (CCS) aims to be of aid and provide support to students who require skills in solving personal difficulties.
In light of living in the new normal and the changes that are being welcomed with it, CCS continues to lend a helping hand to Taylorians in need.
Services offered are free of charge and confidential in nature to all Taylorians in hopes of enabling them to take full advantage of their experience at Taylor’s University.
CCS emphasizes on prevention, intervention, and collaboration through services of individual counselling, group counselling, and psychological and well-being consultation.
Additionally, they provide assistance with referrals to community resources, student special needs support, and crisis interventions.
Currently, students are given individual counselling sessions through various online platforms where a listening ear and non-judgmental approach is presented.

In conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Day, CCS conducted Taylor’s Annual Mental Wellness Campaign to advocate mental health to students.
This year, their theme was on ‘Staying Resilient in This Challenging Times’, and was hosted on 8 and 15 October 2021.
Ng Shan Na, Head of CCS shared, “We engage faculty members to understand the specific needs of students and to cater to their needs.
At the same time, it is also part of CCS’ effort to collaborate closely with the academicians to form a holistic support within the university for students of needs.”
Peer Counselling Buddies (PCB) under CCS, conducts multiple events, to reach out to students in relation to various topics such as stress management as a student, time management, and university life sharing.”
CCS assures that their department will continue to promote mental health well-being amongst students through online infographics and webinars.
