UNITED STATES: The U.S. Republican Party has won control of the Senate and House of Representatives for the next two years, taking over from Democrats as the latter lost the majority to red states.

Flipping over from blue to red that led to this victory were the states West Virginia, Montana, and Ohio, leading to an astoundingly strong GOP-leaning states in the current Trump-dominated era. Many of the GOP candidates stood where they are most popular, such in the friendly states of Texas and Florida, thus allowing them to secure the minimum of 51 seats come the swearing in of a new Congress early next year.

Finally, Republicans won at least 53 seats out of a total of 100 seats, surpassing Democrats' 47 seats to become a majority in the Senate.

In the House, it wasn’t until Wednesday afternoon, more than a week after the election, that it appeared Republicans would win at least 219 seats, having barely defeated Democrats in numerous toss-up districts. Democrats were expected to gain at least 213 seats. 3 races have not been forecasted. The Republicans have crossed the majority threshold in the House of Representatives and become the majority party in the House of Representatives.

Since both houses of Congress are controlled by their own party, there are no obstacles for the president to implement policies.

The new Congress term will begin on January 3, 2025.
