In relation to Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus welcoming fully vaccinated students and staff back to the campus effective 15 October 2021, updated SOP’s have been enforced to maintain and adhere to the safety procedures stated by the government.
Fully inoculated students with vaccines recognised according to Malaysia's standards will be required to present their Covid-19 digital vaccination certificate on the MySejahtera application at the security checkpoints on campus grounds.
Temperature checks will be carried out and students under 'low risk' or 'casual contact (with no symptoms)' under the MySejahtera application are the only ones who will be allowed entry.
Additionally, face masks are required to be worn at all times.
Likewise, students who have acquired vaccines abroad and possess a foreign vaccination certificate would be required to get it reflected on their MySejahtera application.
This is because vaccine certifications on the applications are the only ones recognised by the security staff on campus.
Students are able to get it updated on their application by going to the nearest District Health Office (PKD) to obtain the digital vaccination certificate on their MySejahtera application or by putting in a request through the application itself.
Professor Dr Kashif Hussain, Head of the School of Media and Communication stressed at a SOP briefing meeting that, “Students should have the MySejahtera application on your mobile phones updated.”
He added, “Those vaccinated under the Malaysian Inoculation Program without a digital vaccination certificate on MySejahtera, can present their physical vaccine card.”
Taylorians have started to return to campus for classes, shoots and the use of the library.
Balqis Ahmad Jaidi, student of Bachelors of Mass Communication who has returned to campus for classes and dance practice shared that she is excited to be back on campus but she is still worried about getting infected with Covid-19.
Abu Hurairah, student of Bachelors in International Hospitality Management said, “I am eager to be back on campus and have physical classes as well as meeting up with my classmates again. Overall, it feels good to be back and I have no major issues with being back on campus as long as SOPs are adhered to and social distancing is maintained.”
Campus ground rules will be updated from time to time in accordance to changes in policy by the Malaysian Government.
