When a flyer advertising "free" event – along with a RM 20 off voucher– began circulating on social media, it was clear that this was not an ordinary commercial promotion, but a community driven initiative about the gift of life. From December 13th to 14th, 2025, on the second floor of the AmerinMall in Banbang, Sri Jing, it will become a temporary blood donation center, hosting a two day public blood donation drive.
This two-day activity aims to ease the potential shortages in the blood bank that may occur during the holidays and extend a hand e to the daily life of community residents. The leaflet’s slogan, “Small action, big impact,” captures the essence of voluntary blood donation: individual contributions, when combined, have the power to save lives.

Rigorous process, paired with warm encouragement
Unlike ordinary community events, the blood donation drive set up a set of rigorous and meticulous health screening thresholds. According to the flyer requirements, the donor must be 18 years old or above, weigh at least 45 kg, and have an interval of no less than 3 months from the last donation. There are also special provisions for different groups: medical certificates are required for 60 years old and above, and women need to avoid specific physiological cycles. Behind these seemingly strict conditions, there is a high responsibility for the safety of both donors and blood users.
In order to encourage people to participate, the organisers cooperated with a number of merchants to provide a wealth of thank-you gift packages: successful blood donors can not only get RM20 gift vouchers and free curry corners, but also enjoy exclusive discounts from many cooperative catering brands, as well as free hearing screening services. These rewards are not for the purpose of blood donation, but become a warm carrier to eliminate concerns and convey the gratitude of the community.
A Donor’s Perspective: Between Nervousness and Pride
At the activity site, several blood donation chairs were neatly arranged, and nurses skillfully carried out consultation, physical examination and blood collection. There is a little smell of disinfectant in the air, but it is more calm and focused.
Linda, a university student donating blood for the first time, admitted feeling nervous just moments before the needle went in. “But knowing it might help a stranger through a difficult time made it special,” she said, holding a thank-you gift bag. “The process was very professional, and the nurses were gentle, which really put me at ease.”
Community value beyond business
For AmerinMall, hosting such an event goes far beyond attracting foot traffic.Shopping malls are not only a place for consumption, but also the center of community life. Providing venues to support this life-saving act is the most direct manifestation of our corporate social responsibility. We see many families come, parents donate, and children understand the meaning of public welfare. This is priceless public education.
There were no dazzling performances or noisy promotions in this activity, only the faint sound of needle piercing, soft questions and answers, and silently signed consent forms. The event quietly demonstrated that the warmth of a city lies not only in its prosperity or convenience, but in the willingness of its people to extend their arms and offer hope to strangers At AmerinMall, the true strength of community cohesion was on display..
