If you’re craving Hong Kong style comfort food without leaving campus, Little Cloud Authentic Hong Kong Cafe (小云冰室) brings the taste of ‘Cha Chaan Teng’ (HK Style Kopitiam) right to Taylors, with a playful twist. A ceiling filled with cloud shaped light installations gives the space a dreamy and whimsical touch, a small but meaningful visual surprise every time you look up from your table.

The cafe plays Cantonese music throughout the day, adding authenticity and setting the mood the moment you step in. With the decor and soundtrack the cafe mimics the energy of dining in lively Hong Kong..

The cafe follows a  fast-casual, self-serve style. Customers need to scan the QR code provided at the table to browse the menu and place orders digitally. The process is easy and straightforward, each table is equipped with its own QR code. One thing to bear in mind, you must pay before your food arrives. Your meal will be prepared by the staff and served to your table.

Little Cloud’s menu sticks closely to Hong Kong style comfort food, such as noodle bowls, rice dishes, chicken chops, sandwiches, toasts, and milk teas. The prices are reasonable and student-friendly, mostly within RM10-RM20.

During my visit, I ordered  the Hot & Spicy Chicken Chop Fried Nissin with the addition of luncheon meat and fried egg. The portion was generous: springy Nissin noodles fried with spicy seasoning and topped with a crispy chicken chop. The luncheon meat here provided an exceptional taste experience which differed from the typical luncheon meat. The fried egg was perfectly cooked, its runny yolk, creating a rich, creamy coating for the noodles.

The chicken chop balanced a crisp exterior with a juicy centre. The noodles were coated evenly with seasoning, producing a deliciously savory kick in every bite. If you love Cha Chaan Teng food, this is perfect for you.

The bingsu was a surprising dessert option! It’s rare to see bingsu at Taylor’s. This was a meal highlight making it a refreshing option for students looking for something cold and sweet after class.

Overall, Little Cloud offers comforting food, quick service, and a uniquely themed environment that stands out among campus dining options. For anyone craving Hong Kong flavours between classes, it’s well worth a visit.
