Festival After Work: Highlights You Missed at the OOO Music Festival

Updated: Aug 8

Ever imagined what it’s like to unwind at a music festival right after clocking out from work? Organized by OPPO Malaysia in collaboration with Warner Music Malaysia, the OOO (Out-Of-Office) Music Festival gave city-goers a much-needed weekday escape filled with good music and good vibes. Held at Heritage Valley, Asian Heritage Row, the festival drew an impressive crowd of around 4,000 attendees, proving that weekday nights can be just as fun as the weekends.

In celebration of the official launch of the OPPO Reno14 Series, the festival kicked off with the opening act, NAKI, paired with a one-of-a-kind “Reimagining of Kebaya” fashion show. Designed by our very own fashion students from The Design School at Taylor’s University, the collection was inspired by the phone’s iridescent mermaid design, blending heritage with modernity in every shimmering piece.

The night featured a stellar lineup with Malaysia’s most popular local acts, including Noh Salleh, Bunga, Steady Gang, and Priscilla Abby, with special appearances by Elyn and Phei Yong, who also introduced some of Reno14's coolest features to the crowd. Beyond the music, festival-goers also got to enjoy Instax photo booths, free makeup sessions from Shu Uemura, and local vendors selling everything from handmade pastries to indie art prints — a wholesome showcase of local creativity.

According to Warner Music Malaysia’s A&R Director, Raqeem Brian, the festival wasn’t just about entertainment. In an interview with TVS, he described the festival as “not merely a concert, but a cultural celebration that brings people together through music, creativity, and innovation.” He added, “We look forward to collaborating with OPPO on this unique event to showcase the extraordinary talents we have here in Malaysia.”

With a lineup that brought together an exciting mix of Malay and Chinese artists, the OOO Music Fest created a true “Satu Malaysia” moment. The event proved that music knows no language barriers. Audiences danced and vibed together, even if they didn’t understand the lyrics. “It was my first time attending a music festival featuring Malay singers, and I was blown away by the energy and talent. It made the night unforgettable,” said Jimmy Lian, one of the attendees. “I didn’t expect it to be this fun; it really opened my eyes to how many amazing local artists we have who deserve more international recognition.”

The night wrapped up with a high-energy set from DJ Jovynn, who lit up the stage and left the crowd buzzing. With its unique blend of technology, culture, and community, the OOO Music Festival wasn’t just a celebration of their new series, but a celebration of creativity, connection, and the Satu Malaysia spirit.
