Calling all Taylorians, Loaf & Latté is a brand new place for you to hang out while enjoying coffee and pastries. What makes this cafe truly special is that the baked goods are mostly baked by culinary arts students from Taylor’s Culinary Institute, guided by a French pastry chef.

Pastries by students? At first, I expected the pastries to be just average, but it turned out to be more than good. Every bite reflects the students’ effort and passion, making you want to support the cafe again.

The café creates a comfortable atmosphere through its white interior design. Pastries like croissants, chocolate pies, cinnamon rolls, sausage rolls, veggie danishes, and more were displayed at the front counter, inside a chilled fridge. It’s easy to see and choose your treat.

A lot of beverage options too. The café classics like espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha are available at reasonable prices, slightly cheaper than many other cafés in the area.

During my visit, I took away a piece of lemon cheesecake, RM 13, and a cup of ice latte, RM12. The packaging was thoughtful and secure, with no leaks. They gave an individual package of cutlery and tissues.

The lemon cheesecake is creamy with a subtle tang of lemon. It finds the balance between the richness of the cream cheese and the sour taste of citrus. Besides, the iced latte is my cup of tea. It was smooth with a mild roasty flavour. I found myself enjoying every sip without distractions, just savouring the moment. For me, lemon cheesecake and iced latte is a perfect match.

Another highlight is the café’s collaboration with BOH Tea. There were different flavours of tea bags displayed nicely in one corner at the café. So, tea lovers, here’s an option for you.

Overall, Loaf & Latte is more than just a café. It’s a place where culinary brilliance meets delicious results. If you’re around the campus, this café is definitely worth a visit.
